Psalm 112:7 — He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.
Psalm 112 begins by saying that those who fear the Lord and take delight in His commands are blessed. Knowing Jesus and keeping His commands is a blessing for those who love Him and are enthralled by His love.
The greatest security anyone could ever have is found in a love relationship with Jesus Christ. A lover, a friend, a family member—none of these can compare to the security of the embrace of the Almighty God who loves us to the deepest, most hidden parts of our souls.
Jesus will never, never, ever reject or abandon you. He is not the kind of God or man who would turn His back on someone He died to save and make His precious bride, His body, flesh and bones. Even when you are unfaithful, Jesus remains faithful because His love is self-sacrificing, pure, and stronger than any love you have ever known.
When you believe that Jesus is your faithful lover and forever friend, you will trust Him implicitly no matter what happens in your life. You will know that Jesus is always there, and so bad news will not cause you the kind of fear that makes your heart melt into despair. When bad news comes and fear tries to grip your heart, you will simply turn to Jesus and say, “What now, my Love? My life is in Your hands, Jesus. You are my security in this situation. I am trusting You.”
