Psalm 146:7 — The Lord sets the prisoners free.
When Jesus read from Psalm 61 in the synagogue in Nazareth, He said that the Lord had sent Him “to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners.” Jesus came to make the forgiveness of all sins possible, so that sinners could have a relationship with God.
God created human beings for the pleasure of having a relationship with them. God wanted to share the love, the joy, the beauty, the completeness of His perfect essence with people He created to be blessed by knowing Him. To experience oneness with God is to realize what pure delight is.
One day when we meet Jesus in all of His glory and majesty, we will begin to understand what true love is and why our hearts were made to throb and our eyes to stream with tears of joy. This is part of the reason why Jesus came to set us prisoners free.
Jesus wants you and me to experience the weight of the glory that has washed away every ugly stain of sin and made us spotless and blameless in the holy eyes of Almighty God. Feel the weight of the robe of righteousness that has been laid upon your shoulders. Christ has adorned you with His own glorious righteousness, removed the shackles of sin and the filthy prisoner’s rags, and clothed you in the white linen of the saints.
Jesus sets prisoners free to know Him and the power of His resurrection life. Jesus proclaims that we have been liberated from who and what we were, and He has given us freedom to live as who and what He has made us to be — the redeemed sons and daughters of God.

Psalms 146:7 NLT
He gives justice to the oppressed and food to the hungry. The Lord frees the prisoners.
Genesis 15:1 NLT
[1] Some time later, the Lord spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, “Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great.”
Abram waited until the end. Then one day, God answered him in a dream and gave him a son. I, too, who am waiting for an answer to my prayer, will wait for the Lord’s answer like Abram. Please give me strength.
