Proverbs 3:33 — He blesses the home of the righteous.
The Lord blesses the home of the righteous. Who is the righteous? The righteous is the one who does what is right in the sight of God. But what are we to do when Romans 3:10 says, “There is no one righteous, not even one”?
David wrote, “There is no one who does good, not even one” (Psalm 14:1-3). Based on this diagnosis of the spiritual health of the human race, no home on earth should be blessed. But Solomon wrote that the Lord blesses the home of the righteous, so there must be some who are righteous.
How can a person be righteous if none are righteous? Righteousness must come from someone else and be accounted to the unrighteous one. Who is the righteous one that gives righteousness to others? Jesus Christ, the righteous (1 John 2:1).
Can your home be blessed? Are you righteous? Paul said he had no righteousness of his own, only righteousness from God that comes through faith in Christ (Philippians 3:9). Do you have faith in Christ? He is your righteousness! He is your sanctification! He is your redemption! (1 Corinthians 1:30).
If you are living in Christ, then you are righteous. If Christ is at home in your heart, then Christ will be at the heart of your home.
