All Will Be Well

Today’s Reading: Psalm 112:1-10

Psalm 112:7 — He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.

God promises that all will be well. Psalm 112 speaks about the man who fears the Lord, the righteous man, the man who trusts the Lord. This righteous man (or woman) is blessed in so many ways. We should desire to be righteous and not be wicked, but how can we be righteous in a way that is acceptable to God?

Godly righteousness is His perfection in every thought, word, or action; in other words, righteousness is being perfectly right. God is right in every way all the time. We are absolutely not. We are part of the “all” that have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). All of our righteousness is nothing in comparison to God’s righteousness (Isaiah 64:6), which is why the Bible says, “There is none righteous, no not one” (Romans 3:10).

But Jesus Christ exchanged His righteousness for our sins, and we have become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). God has imputed Christ’s righteousness to us believers, so we can be counted as the righteous and be blessed by the Lord when we appropriate that righteousness in our daily walk with Jesus.

One of the beautiful blessings of living in Christ’s righteousness is that we do not have to fear bad news. Our hearts can stand firm, trusting God that He will establish our hearts. As dark as the news may seem, God has a light of hope for us. The light of hope is a solid rock named Jesus, and we can stand on Him and not be moved.

When the bad news comes, we can sing with conviction, “It is well, it is well with my soul!” Our breastplate of righteousness (Ephesians 6:14) protects our hearts and makes us stand firm in the evil day (Ephesians 6:13).

Righteous child of God, no matter what happens today in your life, all will be well. Believe what God says about you in Psalm 112.

"God is right in every way all the time. Righteous child of God, no matter what happens today in your life, all will be well."

When something bad happens to me, we only look at that moment and wonder, why did this happen...what bad thing did I do? We become restless. The Lord, who knows the beginning and the end of our lives, needs these difficulties for us. Is this the difficulty that He gives us to train His children? Yes, because we really need it! All will be well. It is well. It is well with my soul!

Thank you, Jesus!
